It’s boggling to me with the “advances” in surveillance technology that advertising is still so dumb.
I’m at the gas pump and it starts blasting on-demand videos for:
- cooling off with a cold drink (on this near freezing day)
- joining the awards program (that I just signed into for a discount)
Years ago, I completed a survey regarding video advertising at my gas station pumps. I said I didn’t want to be hit by video and audio first thing in the morning when I only wanted gas and to get to work. I also said it made me despise the brands advertised on the video displays. I’m not saying my input did anything, but that gas station has since removed the video displays.
