Music

๐ŸŽถ I often think about how Katatonia’s re-release of their album as a semi-acoustic version was genius:

Dead End Kings becomes Dethroned and Uncrowned

๐ŸŽถ I think it might be bandcamp friday.

I used Plex mostly for ๐ŸŽถ, but tonight we dove into ๐Ÿ“บ and ๐ŸŽฅ with the addition of an HDHomeRun and antenna. Hope this works!

๐ŸŽถ It’s not the end of the year, but we’re getting close. Here’s about where it will land. (Much more to come in end-of-year music post.)

๐ŸŽถ Just heard a new (to me) track that was intriguing, so I checked out the artist and….

    …ok, go on.

    (the band is Ne Obliviscaris)

๐ŸŽถ How do you get from louisville-rock to antifascist red-and-black-metal?

    Apparantely through:

    • post-rock
    • super-indie-christian industrial
    • extreme christian metal

This is an example of the “DJ Stretch” feature in PlexAmp, and it’s really fun.

๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐ŸŒŸ Itโ€™s that time of year when I get to enjoy my favorite #MetalMennonite song as much as I want.

Becoming the Archetype - O Holy Night

๐ŸŽถ Obviously not what artists are “optimizing” for, but some artists (esp. industrial-ish ones) would shoot to the top of listening charts for some of us if they didn’t spread their work across so many projects.

    • Klayton
    • Rhys Fulber
    • Andy LaPlegua
    • etc.

๐ŸŽถ jog my memory: was Thursday mostly a one-hit-wonder or did people listen to lots more than Understanding in a Car Crash?

๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ“ Who wants to go to Igorrr (+ Melt-Banana and Otto von Schirach)? Sep 28 at the Vogue

(It was awesome when I saw a full-band experience in Chicago.)

edited to add: I reserved a table as well as a ticket.

๐ŸŽถ Plexamp added โ€œguest DJโ€ modes, and they are pretty awesome additions on top of the mix/radio options that were already available.

Here are a few examples of each:

๐ŸŽถ I’ve done the thing. Come to my festival. Thx.

(I’d like to rearrange days/stages to group them better, but ok.)

Silent Planet is selling their โ€œheal usโ€ design again, with proceeds benefiting a Colorado Springs based LGBT advocacy and support group. ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

This is my favorite shirt design and Iโ€™ve bought it multiple times on tees and hoodies. Pictures through the link.

Do yourself a favor and enjoy this groove session every once in a while. It always makes me grin:

๐ŸŽถ Marc Rebillet feat. Madison McFerrin

This โšฝ๏ธ announcer just called swearing โ€œindustrial languageโ€ ๐ŸŽถ and Iโ€™m officially calling it that now.

๐ŸŽถ I find it interesting to look at which top artists don’t have a top album (and vice versa).

Any stand out in your own lists/data?

๐ŸŽถ automatic loudness leveling is really helpfulโ€ฆ

But what the heck are you doing Apple Music? You shouldnโ€™t do this within an album playthrough. Awkward, esp. when there are transitions, preludes, and interludes.

Iโ€™ve never noticed another service do this wrong.

๐ŸŽถ August Burns Red made a t-shirt about me.

    ๐ŸŽถ Did You Know?

Itโ€™s not officially Autumn until youโ€™ve listened to Opethโ€™s Blackwater Park straight through.
