Sightings
ππΆ Took my first kayak trip on our creek. Went upstream first to make sure I could handle the current.
Saw an incredible sycamore with a root hollow as wide as I am tall. Saw a little snek swimming away.
Didnβt die when thunderstorm struck, but it sure was interesting.
Thereβs a belted kingfisher sitting at the tip of one of the turtle-logs, rattling away. Not where I expected to see it. π
Had to plug back in the trailcam solar charger because some critter had yanked it out. Hope I got of funny closeup of that happening! π
π Sources say fishing should be good this summer
Siku would very much like some goose eggs πΎπ
βI like turtlesβ π
Good morning

Time for forestry! π
π Iβve gotten used to the slow-bop walk of the Great Blue Heron, so when it decides to really haul, its speed catches me off guard.
Update: visit the post for a picture of the heron up close.
Muskrats have been doing some serious bivalve dining π
π Gotta darken this up and then use it to release a symphonic folk black metal album. πΆ
π I was not prepared for a snowy Great Blue Heron
π Iβm enjoying how the critters are making paths on the thin ice.
π Just saw ten (10!) deer π¦ run by.
I donβt think Iβve ever seen more than 4-5 at a time.
π love the little micro drifts of snow on the ice
π I like the way the branch looks under the thin ice.

Turns out itβs a woodpecker (red-bellied).
